La Thuile - the ideal way to get in touch with nature...

The "Piccolo Sanbernardo" pass is only 12 Km far away and it is the probable place where Hannibal crossed the Alps with his elephants. It is possible to visit "mansio romana" and a megalithic cromlech. Furthermore there is a bothanic garden: the "Chanousia". Not far from here, there is the marveillous Verney lake, where you can fish trouts.
Mountain bike tracks are well marked. Close to the village there is a pine tree wood with pic-nic tables and barbecues.
Incredible views on the Mont Blanc have to be seen from Petosan and from the "Belvedere" at Colle San Carlo.
Forests are rich of forest fruits and wonderfull wild mushrooms.
Tree waterfalls drive to the glacier.
On the way it is possible to stop at the Deffeyes refuge (2424 mt).
On the Dora river, more than fishing, it is possible to practice rafting with qualified instructors.
